Theodor Weimer has been a Senior Advisor at KKR since 2025, where he is involved in identifying investment opportunities and building partnerships with companies across the DACH region.
From 2018 to 2024 he was CEO of Deutsche Börse AG, leading the exchange operator through a period of digital transformation and strategic acquisitions. Before that he was Spokesman of the Management Board of HypoVereinsbank and Country Chairman for Germany at UniCredit.
He began his career at McKinsey, moved to Bain & Company, and later joined the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs, where he became partner. He has also served on the supervisory boards of Knorr-Bremse and Deutsche Bank. He studied in Tübingen and St. Gallen and holds a doctorate from the University of Bonn.
KKR is one of the largest investment firms in the world, founded in 1976 and active across private equity, infrastructure, real estate and credit.
The firm has been investing in Germany for more than 25 years and works with management teams, founders, family owners and corporates across the region.
The evening is built around a moderated on-stage conversation between Dr. Theodor Weimer and two editors of the St. Gallen Business Review, followed by an open question round with the audience. The format runs for roughly 45 to 60 minutes and leaves deliberate room for questions that rarely fit into a shorter appearance.
The event is hosted jointly by ESPRIT St. Gallen and the St. Gallen Business Review. It will be held in German.
Following the event, a small group of students will join Dr. Theodor Weimer for dinner. Seats are limited and allocated through an application process. Details on the venue are shared with the selected participants.
